The Vitality of Bird Ecology and the Need for Conservation

Ecology is all about maintaining the natural settings for living, breeding, and feeding habitats of different animals and bird species. It is a terrible fact that human invasion to the natural ecology of animals and birds are tempering the equilibrium of the nature and causes a highly adverse impact. This not only affects animals and birds, but ultimately comes back to the mankind itself.

The call for preserving natural habitats of birds is at its peak now. Primarily, bird conservation focuses on identifying the birds which are under the risk of extinction due to lack of habitats and natural resources for them to survive. Conservation of bird ecology is a constant effort put forth by nature scientists, conservationists, and government bodies to attempt and protect the birds prone to extinction, by enhancing their living conditions and environment.

Initiatives for ecology preservation

Conservationists now take initiatives with a lot of scientific methods to preserve the rare species bird population and ecology. It has been clearly identified as a result of the researches conducted on the extinction of bird ecology that it is the way humans live now having a serious adverse impact on bird population.

When it comes to the native and migrant birds of Hawaii, there are plenty of species of birds, which have now become extinct or on the verge of extinction in the next decade. Not just the situation created by humans, but the bird population is also affected by other causes as the invasion of foreign species, attacks, natural predators, epidemics etc. adversely affecting the existence of many bird  species. Extensive climatic changes also have bad impacts on the bird population.

Birds of Gulf Coast

The population of migrant and native birds of Gulf Coast had witnessed a rapid and steady decline over the last few decades. The count of major species like the Black Skimmer, Snowy Plover, Least Tern, and Wilson’s Plover which used to nest on the beach are shrinking. The threats here are coastal development, beach-goers, off-road vehicles, and pet attacks along with the natural disasters like hurricane. Uncontrolled ocean oil spills also endanger these species of birds.

There are many initiatives and groups like ABC etc. actively into the protection of birds at the Golf Coast, which surely makes a difference lately in terms of the physical protection of the birds, monitoring and preservation of their nesting sites, and also initiating educational activities to the public to take part in ecology preservation programs. These efforts show significant results too lately.

Public participation

Many of the conservationists groups work hand in hand with the government initiatives to protect the native birds and migrant birds and do fundraising from the public. Through this, the common men also get an opportunity to be a proud partner of the ecology preservation program. It is not just all about preserving a bird species, but to maintain the most natural environmental for the living kind by preserving forests and other habitats.

Not just helping the birds and animals, these efforts also in turn help making the human life better in future. It is not simply concrete jungles what we need for future, but it is highly time to nurture a ‘living close to nature’ culture for the well being of yourselves as well as every other living and non-living things around us.
